In Germany, the law regulates that teachers are free to decide how they teach. Do you think that the teaching lacks rigor? You should ask to speak with the appropriate teacher. Please be prepared that the teacher listens your concerns, but doesn’t change his teaching style.
Ideally, the child should participate with much pleasure in teaching. In the first classes of primary school the focus is therefore more playful. Over the years, the demands are rising and it is no longer played.
Basically, it is strictly forbidden in German schools to use physical force to move children to learn. But there are corrective and disciplinary measures, which may be used in justified cases.
